This shot was taken with my Canon FTb on Ilford HP5 400 film. I am working on a review/article about my experience with this camera so I took it along with me to a doctors appointment.
I was in a moving car when I quickly took this picture. I pass this house every time I go to my chiropractor and I always say I wish I could get a picture of that house, but the traffic is always heavy and moving fast. I was surprised this came out and that I was able to catch the windmill on the front lawn. I had to use a fast shutter speed so it didn’t catch the movement of the windmill, but I still really like this shot. I think I will try it again on color. What do you think?

Great pic. I love my FTb. It’s a hand-me-down, and the lenses were kept in excellent condition. That Canon FD glass is excellent and surprisingly affordable relative to some other lens systems.
Thank you 🙂 yes the fd lenses are great. I can’t decide if I’m more of a fan of my Nikkor glass pre AI or these older FD that I use. I do have a lot more Nikkor though. Any FD glass you can recommend?
My favorite is the Canon FD 50mm 1.4 – it’s just so sharp and versatile, with really nice blur wide open. I also have found some of the old Vivitar lenses (I have a 28mm 2.8) that are decent for dirt cheap. I guess many of them used to be used by Sears Portrait Studios in the 80’s?
Oh that’s interesting. I didn’t know that. When I first bought my canon TX it came with a vivitar lens and I was so surprised how good it was. I think I’ll try some more of those because some of the FD I want are a little too expensive. Thanks for the recommendation

A moving car? That is impressive, I like it and the framing is very good. I am trying to make up my mind about my Canon FD kit, I like them in spite of the bulk and weight. Service is a hassle, my two favorite technicians refuse to work on them, and I seem to be unlucky with old film equipment.
