The infamous year of 2020 is now drawing to a close and while a new year will be coming, a lot of things are going to bleed over into 2021. Unfortunately, a lot of it are things we cannot control. I try to stick to the things I can, otherwise my anxiety gets out of… Continue reading The End of 2020 – My Favorite Photos of the Year and What I’ve Learned
Fujicolor 100 film, otherwise known as Fujicolor Industrial, is a color film with an ISO of 100. It is used for outdoors mostly and portraits because it is said to be good for skin tones compared to Fuji Superia Xtra for example, which can be very saturated. I didn't get to take any portraits to… Continue reading My First Try with Fujicolor 100
This election season was nuts. I think we can all agree on that, but that may be the only thing we all can seem to agree on. I have mentioned in the past that I grew up in a certain religion that didn't allow a lot of things, and one of those things was involvement… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – Election 2020
I have only one neighbor who puts up halloween decor on her lawn. I didn't grow up celebrating holidays so I guess you could say I am kind of drawn to them now. Not so much their meaning, but more so the traditions and celebrations they include. Nikon FIlford HP5 400 I have taken pictures… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – Halloween
When someone you love passes away and is suddenly no longer in your life, you're left with remnants of their life. Remnants of who they once were. I haven't done a review of my Hasselblad 500 C/M yet, but I want to use it and get to know it well before I do. The main thing I have done with it is still life. I just got the negatives back from the lab of a roll of Kodak Portra 800 I shot… Continue reading Catching the Light – Still Life with my Hasselblad
I don't consider this a complete disaster, but it was an experiment gone wrong so I thought I'd share. I brought along my Yashica Electro on a long distance doctors appointment as my "emotional support camera" loaded with Kentmere Pan 400 film. I have used and developed this film before with no issues. Here's a… Continue reading Developing Adventures – Getting Agitated
I decided to write this article because I mentioned on my instagram that I often took my cameras with me to appointments as a therapy camera. Kind of like a companion dog. I received many messages from people saying that they suffer from anxiety as well and they were going to give this a try.
I took this photo while I was in my wheelchair at the grocery store. I hate that I still have to use it, but walking for more than a few minutes causes me too much pain and the tingling in my legs gets worse. So for now it is what it is. One advantage that… Continue reading One Shot with Aly : Shopping in the Time of Covid
I’ve been feeling extremely tired lately I think from the medication I am on for Crohn’s Disease, and just from the disease in general. It’s been really challenging for me to go out in the summer heat to take photos. I can’t really explain the type of fatigue that comes with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It’s… Continue reading Testing Cameras on Location: Canon 7, Nikon F, & Kodak Premo No. 2
