My camera collection is growing more and more each month. After all, this wouldn’t be Aly’s Vintage Camera Alley if I didn’t have a lot of vintage cameras right? I love these cameras. I can’t help it, and I love reviewing different ones for all of you, but the downside is, I don’t get to… Continue reading One on One – One Week with One Lens or Film Stock
For this installment of One on One, I spent a week shooting with my Nikon F and the Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 pre AI lens. It was loaded with Kodak Tmax 400 pushed to 1600. I have owned this lens for over a year and although I’ve used it countless times, I decided to make it… Continue reading One on One: A Week with the Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4 on Kodak Tmax
While I know it is just a tree, to me it is much more than that. It is symbolic for the comfort and purpose nature really serves for us humans as we experience imperfect tribulations all around them.
I have only one neighbor who puts up halloween decor on her lawn. I didn’t grow up celebrating holidays so I guess you could say I am kind of drawn to them now. Not so much their meaning, but more so the traditions and celebrations they include. I have taken pictures of her lawn ghosts… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – Halloween
If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while, you may remember a former One Shot article I wrote called Avocado Season. I also mentioned that I have a 15 year… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – An Avocado Baby
This election season was nuts. I think we can all agree on that, but that may be the only thing we all can seem to agree on. I have mentioned in the past that I grew up in a certain religion that didn’t allow a lot of things, and one of those things was involvement… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – Election 2020
Being a Floridian, the heat and humidity become so unbearable this time of year, not to mention the incessant downpours, that I will have to become really creative if I want to scratch that itch of taking photos daily. So I set up a black velvet sheet, with two light boxes, a tripod, and took many shots with some sunflowers.
This beautiful hotel was built in Stuart, Florida in the 1970s. It is one of the few old buildings left in the area. It is located on the water next to a boat store, and I pass it every week when I go to the chiropractor. Every-time I pass it I say I have to… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – the Abandoned Hotel
Think about having to come out to family, which is essentially announcing the way you chose to love another person. I would just like you to imagine having to fear holding hands in public, or to be told that God considers you to be evil.
This shot was taken with my Canon FTb on Ilford HP5 400 film. I am working on a review/article about my experience with this camera so I took it along with me to a doctors appointment. I was in a moving car when I quickly took this picture. I pass this house every time I… Continue reading One Shot with Aly – the Triangle House
