I received a 3 pack of Lomography Lady Grey 400 from Kelsey last Christmas and was excited to get a chance to try it for the first time. The only thing I could find on the history of this film is that it is suspected to be rebranded Kodak Tmax 400, but I don’t know if that’s true. So after finding very little in my research of the film, I just want to talk about my thoughts on Lomography Lady Grey.
My Results with Lomography Lady Grey 400
I shot these photos from the car after a doctors appointment, and was glad to see it held up well in this type of situation.

There is a fair amount of contrast with this film, but at the same time it still has a lot of tonality. It looks like a film that has been pushed, but maybe that was just my metering because the shadows didn’t hold up very well. As a result, I think I may have needed to meter for the shadows with this film.
There is also virtually no grain, which I personally like.
Final Thoughts
I like this film, and my results. However, I still think Ilford HP5 400 is a more affordable black and white film stock for this type of look. What do you think? Have you tried Lady Grey? Let me know in the comments. It’s always fun talking to you all.
