Like many people, I had been waiting for the Fujifilm X100V to come back in stock…anywhere for a while now. When we found out we were going to have a baby in 2021, I really wanted a camera that was compact, digital, and fast to take photos of our new baby. The X100V was getting a lot of hype at the time, but it was basically unavailable. After some research, I realized the X100T wasn’t all that different. I’ll be giving you 5 reasons to buy the Fujifilm x100T in 2023.
I’ve had this camera for 2 years now so this is based on my experience and extensive use with it. I now have an an X100V so I’ve been able to compare, and before I pass on my X100T I really felt I needed to share this because honestly it may be just what you need.

5 Reasons to Buy The FujiFilm X100T in 2023
- Number one on the list, especially these days, the price. As of writing this, you can pick up a Fuji X100T with a battery and charger for under $1000 on KEH which is significantly less than an X100V. You can pick one up on Ebay for even less. It will be used obviously, but the way the X100V is being priced right now, this alone can be the reason to buy the X100T instead of the X100V.
- Next up is quality. It takes amazing photos! I was so surprised at the photos that I could get with an older 16mp camera. I was fully expecting it to be like one of my old digicams from the early 2000’s. It’s solidly built, but not heavy. The color and feel the photos have from this camera are beautiful, and while you obviously won’t blow up huge prints, I’ve got really large photos hanging in my home taken with this camera.
- The next reason to get an X100T in 2023 is the overall experience you get with this camera. Fuji has been coming out with cameras aimed at film users like myself, and they include film simulations, dials on the camera, and you can even control the aperture straight from the lens like a vintage film camera. This is especially appealing to hybrid shooters who want to shoot film but want to also be able to pick up a digital camera for fun and not have to worry about the price of each frame like you would with film. There’s also a ton of customizable features packed into this small camera making it intuitive and easy to use.
- That leads me to the 4th reason, which is the size of the X100T. It is compact! It can fit in your coat pocket, handbag, messenger bag, or even the front console of your car. One of my favorite things about it is that it’s lightweight because most digital cameras are beasts these days.
- Finally, the 5th reason you should get an X100T in 2023 is that it’s available! I am not sure when the X100V will become more widely available and at its normal price, but if you’re impatient like me, the X100t is readily available. I highly encourage you to compare the two cameras specs and see if the wait and price difference is worth it for your needs.

Final Thoughts
Like I said in the beginning, I am selling my X100T because I do have the X100V now, but that is only because my needs changed. For me the autofocus was a little too slow to keep up with my 8 month old now that she’s getting closer to walking. Other than that it is a great camera for the price, MP count and size. That is why I had to share this because the X100T is perfectly fine for all the reasons I have mentioned.

I have had the X100V since it first came out, and I enjoy it a lot. The battery is an issue for me, but a few extras are not too bad. After much hemming and hawing, I decided to use the Canon G7X Mark II for an extended trip out of the country – better camera battery life, significantly less expensive to replace, and though I don’t care for the colors, there is always post production. The X100V is my travel camera in country or locally as, like you said, it has a lot to offer, is easy to carry around, and makes wonderful photos. Your photos on whichever X100 you took are beauties – and so is your daughter!
Yea this was the x100t. They’re so similar that’s why I felt like I wanted to make this list because if your unable to get an x100v or to afford one, this is still a great option.
