Macro Flowers with the Nikon PK3

To keep with my last post about still life photography, I thought that next I’d share my Macro photography of flowers taken with a special attachment, the Nikon PK3. I tend to always have a bouquet of flowers or two around the house so that when the mood or lighting hits me I can shoot… Continue reading Macro Flowers with the Nikon PK3

Arista EDU Ultra: the Best Budget Film?

I've done many articles featuring Arista EDU Ultra film over the year. In my opinion it is a great black and white film at an actually affordable price. I've demonstrated in these articles the diversity of this film in pushing it and developing it. Therefore, I wanted to make this proper review now that I… Continue reading Arista EDU Ultra: the Best Budget Film?

Silberra Color 100 – My 1st Thoughts

Originally I had decided not to post this article when the war against Ukraine first started out. It just didn’t feel right to me to promote a Russian film at the time. Years later, however, I doubt my thoughts on this film will have any effect on the turmoil going on. So here is my… Continue reading Silberra Color 100 – My 1st Thoughts

Family Fun with the Olympus Pen FT

I’ve owned the Olympus Pen FT for years now but have only ran a few rolls through it. I just haven’t found the patience for double the amount of frames at half the resolution. However, on a family outing earlier this year, I decided to bring it along for snaps because I figured with the… Continue reading Family Fun with the Olympus Pen FT

First Thoughts: the Minolta XE-7

I am blessed enough to have a nice size collection of cameras, and even further blessed that most of my collection came from friends and family. One of those cameras is my Minolta XE-7 that was given to me by my friend Alex Luyckx. If you are an active member of the film community I’m… Continue reading First Thoughts: the Minolta XE-7

Life Upside down

It’s painful to write this right now at 430am as I lay in a hospital bed in my bedroom. My life has been turned upside down. That may sound dramatic and maybe on the outside it is, but in August I just celebrated the 5 year anniversary of starting this blog and my YouTube channel.… Continue reading Life Upside down

Fujifilm 400: Still Superia or Just Ultramax in Disguise?

I was sent a couple rolls of Fuji's newer 400 film from a friend in the community named Lance. He asked me if I could shoot the new Fujifilm 400 to see what I thought of the rumors of this film just being Ultramax in disguise. I agreed to do it because Fuji Superia Xtra 400 is one of my favorite films and I've been pretty devastated since it was discontinued.

A Day on Film Part 1: What is a Fat Roll?

Earlier this year I went out and shot a day on film during a beautiful cold front in Florida. I've already shared the Street Candy MTN100 and ATM400 that I shot that day, but now I want to share the color film and a fat roll. This is a long one. That is why I… Continue reading A Day on Film Part 1: What is a Fat Roll?

Street Candy ATM400 Film Review

Late last year I was given the opportunity to try out my first rolls of Street Candy ATM400 film along with a couple rolls of MTN100, which you can see my review for that here, and I had a great day shooting a ton of film. My life has been very crazy lately, so it's… Continue reading Street Candy ATM400 Film Review

Street Candy MTN100

Vincent Moschetti, the owner of Street Candy film, contacted me and asked if I would like to try out his films. I gladly accepted the offer, and received a box with 2 rolls of his 400 speed and 2 rolls of his 100 speed film. This article is one of several I will be sharing… Continue reading Street Candy MTN100
